I am a multidisciplinary designer of both physical and digital products. I love developing new brands and extending or refreshing existing ones. The work I’ve done has impacted customers and fans of models, musicians, startups, consumer goods companies, and cultural institutions, among many others.

I am a maker of things – beautiful things.

I believe that the design on the inside of the box is just as important as what’s on the outside of the box.

I believe that the best answer to a question is not always going to be the fastest or easiest answer.

I believe in design that engages through emotion - can it make you smile, make you cry, make you cheer, make you think?

BIO

Born in Iowa, raised in Northern California and currently based in Los Angeles, Tim Hankins pursued design to explore his creative interests: art, music, film, games and technology. A childhood hobby became a career when Hankins joined ARTISTdirect in 2000. He then founded his own design firm (Methods of Madness) where he has designed for a group of diverse clients such as Walt Disney Records, supermodel Marisa Miller, and the LA Philharmonic. He was the first designer hired by The Honest Company and helped to build that brand through its early digital and packaging designs. After 4 and a half years at Honest, Hankins left as its Director of Creative Services and spent a year as the Creative Director of Laurel & Wolf, an interior design company based in West Hollywood, CA.
